We finished up auditioning and casting a bit after 8:30 last night.
We saw forty-one orphans, a bit fewer than twenty grown women, and five men.
This was probably the toughest casting session I've ever done. In some areas, we had an excess of riches. In other areas, we may yet do some begging. My thanks to everyone who came out and auditioned. I appreciate so much the nerve that it takes to stand up and sing and speak -- by simply participating, you raised yourself a step above all those people who imagine they might come out for a show "someday" but have never quite found the nerve. I cannot thank the auditioners enough for their heart and nerve in trying out this weekend.
